16 out of 22 districts of Punjab gets new civil surgeons, on the first day of January 1,2021.
Many of the civil surgeons were already retired and were on extension period. Punjab government had extended their term, due to Covid pandemic in Punjab. As the Covid situation is under control, the government didn’t extend their service period and were relived on December 31,2020.
Their extension in the service blocked the promotion channel of many doctors, which causes heart burns amongst many doctors, junior to them.
