Underlining the importance of changing the way of working in the new digitalised era, to make it more transparency and efficient, Captain Amarinder Singh had said that his government is committed to bring in greater transparency and efficacy in governance.

But this seems not fit in the case of municipal corporation Patiala, as it’s website (mcpatiala.org) is not working. Interestingly, taking the delivery of essential services online has been a pet project of the state government.

Municipal corporation website is showing “This account has been suspended. Contact your hoisting provider for more information.”

From the very first day, Patiala civic body had been lagging behind and the website is the starting point. Even in the SAD-BJP regime, it was lately launched.

Sumit, a resident of the royal city Patiala said,” I am very astonished to see the working of municipal corporation, in this digital era. A website is a mouth piece of any organistaion/ department, as it provides the residents round-the-clock availability of important information.”

When contacted a professional Raj Kumar, who built websites said” this account has been suspended, contact your hoisting provider for more information, comes may be due to a Malware virus attack or may be due to payment failure. The chances of upgradation of the website is also possible.”

When contacted the joint commissioner of municipal corporation Patiala Avikesh Gupta, he said “I don’t know about this. I’ll check and inform you. But he didn’t respond.”
