Annual Prize Distribution Function at Khalsa College Patiala
Patiala-Gobind Singh Longowal, President, Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee, Sri Amritsar, presided over the Annual Prize Distribution Function at Khalsa College, Patiala and distributed the prizes to the students. 115 students were awarded Roll of Honour and 328 students got college color. 24 students who brought laurels to the college at national and international level were bestowed with special prizes.
Five girl students who showed their extraordinary talents in various activities were honoured with Award of Excellence. Savleen Kaur was awarded Mata Gujri Award of Excellence and cash prize of Rs. 5100/-. Poorti Jain received Mata Ganga Best Performance Award, Kirandeep Kaur was given Mata Sahib Kaur Best Performance Award, Divjot Kaur was honoured with Mata Khivi Best Performance Award, Avneet Kaur received Mata Sulakhani Best Performance Award and cash prize of Rs. 3100/- was given to each student.
Longowal, said that Khalsa College Patiala is one of the leading Institutes among all the educational institutes running under SGPC Sri Amritsar Sahib, which has the status of Potential for Excellence by UGC, Autonomous Status and ‘A’ Grade by NAAC. He also said that it is a matter of pride that all the educational institutions running under the patronage of SGPC Sri Amritsar Sahib are progressing academically and it is always striving to raise the standard of academics in these institutes.
College Principal, Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha welcomed the chief guest Gobind Singh Longowal and other guests, and congratulated the prize winning students and their parents. Ubha elaborated the achievements of the college while reading the annual report. Ubha also told about the achievements of teachers at national and international level.
The function commenced with recitation of Shabad. Dr. Jasleen Kaur, Co-ordinator of the function and Deputy Principal, presented the students receiving Award of Excellence, Vice Principal Dr. Tarlochan Singh Mahajan brought forward Roll of Honor students, Vice Principal Dr. Kuldeep Singh Batra and Dean, Cultural Activities Dr. Harvinder Kaur brought forward College Color students and students receiving special awards in front of the chief guest. The teachers of the college who presented their papers in other countries were also honoured during this occasion.
Harpal Juneja, Nardev Singh Aakari along with others were also present on this occasion. Prof. Jaspreet Kaur conducted the stage proceedings of the function.
