Govt employees beware -PSPCL defaulter won’t get electricity connection

Punjab state power corporation limited (PSPCL) taking a tough stand against Punjab government employees, who fails to clear the electricity bills of their government allotted accommodation, PSPCL has issued a latest order that “any defaulter won’t get electricity connection, in future”

Punjab state power corporation limited (PSPCL) has taken this tough stand, after it fails to recover the pending energy bills from the state government employees, who, after transfer to new locations, fails to deposit the energy bills of previous premises.

In its new orders chief engineer commercial office has directed all the engineer in chiefs/ chief engineers of distribution circles of Punjab sate power corporation limited, to look into this matter. The orders read, “In such cases, heads of the offices/ departments under whom the consumer is working shall be addressed to recover the outstanding amount from the salary of the person concerned and remit the same to PSPCL. If the employee has been transferred to other station, his other address shall be found out and the head of its new office be asked likewise. If any such defaulting consumer seeks a connection elsewhere in the state, it shall not be allowed till outstanding dues are cleared.”

Govt employees beware -PSPCL defaulter won’t get electricity connection .As per PSPCL officials, “the government houses were allotted by the estate office of PWD department on the recommendation of the district house allotment committee . When ever any govt employee, left the government accommodation, PWD officials don’t inform the concerned PSPCL office, of their area. If the PWD officials inform us in time or ask the occupant to take no objection certificate (NoC) from us, before leaving the government accommodation, the dispute, if any won’t arise and PSPCL will get its energy bill on time.”
