CUPB provides Oxygen Cylinders for effective management of CoronaVirus pandemic

Realizing its responsibility towards society in the current state of the COVID-19 pandemic, when the nation is struggling to meet its enhanced oxygen requirement due to unprecedented surge in corona infected cases, the Central University of Punjab, Bathinda has taken a novel initiative to provide Oxygen Cylinders being used in their Research Laboratories to District Administration, Bathinda and AIIMS, Bathinda for oxygen supply to needy patients.
A total of 16 Oxygen Cylinders have been provided to District Administration on 24th April under this initiative. Similarly, 10 Oxygen Cylinders have been provided to AIIMS, Bathinda on 26th April as a large number of COVID infected patients are being admitted there.
It is pertinent to mention here that under the patronage of Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari, Vice Chancellor of Central University of Punjab, Bathinda (CUPB) , Kanwal Pal Singh Mundra, the Registrar of University has taken all preventive measures to control the spread of coronavirus and has organized Mass Vaccination Drive and COVID testing camps to ensure safety of employees as well as students.

Tiwari praised the initiative of CUPB faculty and researchers to support this venture as in this situation when our country is suffering from shortage of liquid oxygen and oxygen supply equipment, this small initiative will surely help save life of some patients who urgently need oxygen for their survival and to fight against COVID. Prof. Tiwari made an appeal to educational & research institutions, industry and business houses to halt their liquid oxygen related processes for a while and support the administration by sharing their resources for effective management of the crisis.
