Punjab Chief Captain Amarinder Singh, who formed the government by promising 24-hour power supply to the people of Punjab, had now failed to provide uninterrupted power supply, which was causing huge economic loss to the industries. This was stated by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab affairs in-charge and MLA from Delhi, Jarnail Singh, during a press conference held at the party headquarters here on Wednesday. He demanded that Captain Amarinder Singh should compensate the industries for the economic losses incurred due to power shortage. Taking a dig at Captain Amarinder Singh, the AAP leader alleged that Captain had ordered to shut down the industries instead of filling up the power shortage in the state, leaving thousands of people working in these industries unemployed and production coming to a standstill.
Jarnail Singh said that the condition of small factories in the state was also very bad and due to non-availability of electricity in the agricultural sector; the farmers were being forced to destroy the paddy in their fields. “Under Captain Amarinder Singh’s rule, small traders, shopkeepers, farmers and industrialists are in dire straits,” he added. Presenting the evidence, Jarnail Singh said that the power supply in the state of Delhi was not cut even for a single day during the summer season as there was a well-intentioned government and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. He said that being a pro-people government would definitely benefit the people as the Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi has taken a pro-people decision and started a scheme to provide financial assistance to the families of the victims and orphans; a plan which is unique across the country.
Criticising Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, Jarnail Singh said that Captain, who had run away from fulfilling his promises to the people, was attending the ‘Delhi Darbar’ to save his seat. He said that the Congress internal feud had made the people of Punjab poor and abandoned them. The AAP leader said that the failed Captain Amarinder Singh should resign from the post of Chief Minister as the people of Punjab now wanted to elect a Chief Minister who would stand with the people.
