Breather for PSPCL, TSPL faulty unit restored

Talwandi Sabo Power Limited (TSPL), largest thermal power plant in Punjab has successfully restored its Unit 3 successfully. Now two of the units of the plant have resumed operations and are generating electricity, as per the PSPCL power demand.

In an unprecedented chain of events, unit no 3 was detected with major technical glitch and was out of order since March’21. Spare parts and components were ordered immediately and with the support of Punjab state power corporation limited (PSPCL)  custom clearance was sought for speedy delivery of the same with month’s which would have otherwise taken about a years’ time. A Team of highly qualified engineers from Korea, BHEL, GE & Siemens worked day in and out for assembling and setting the unit in motion within a few days of arrival of components which itself is a commendable feat.

Expressing gratitude to the engineers and PSPCL officials for their support and cooperation in these trying times, Vikas Sharma, CEO TSPL said,” I am happy to confirm that our unit 3 which broke down in March due to unprecedented failure has been successfully restored to resume operation. We are committed to our mission to partner in Punjab’s progress. I express my gratitude to PSPCL for their support and the team of engineers who worked meticulously to ensure timely restoration of the unit within the stipulated timeline committed to Govt. of Punjab. We are mindful of our responsibilities, and I assure the people of Punjab that we shall do all within our reach to ensure smooth operations and uninterrupted power generation in all times to come.”
