YPS motivates students to serve the nation

To motivate and prepare students to serve the nation, CTW (Cadet’s Training Wing) seminar on armed forces was organised by Yadavindra Public School, Patiala on 06 October 2021. This event was conducted with the help of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute, Mohali.
With an aim to motivate students to serve the nation and join National Defence Academy , CTW seminar was conducted in Captain Amarinder Singh Auditorium of YPS, Patiala. The seminar included the motivational talk by the following veterans from armed forces :
- Air Mshl Kulwant Singh Gill, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, VM(G), Veteran
- Maj Gen B S Grewal, VSM, Director General AFPI
- Air Cmde Nitin Sathe, Veteran, IO & Head CTW AFPI
- Cmde Ajay Puri
Along with aspiring students from YPS, around 70 students from three different schools participated in this seminar. The speakers motivated the students by educating them about the role and challenges of being army men. They also mentioned the significance of all three forces i.e. Army, Navy and Air Force.
AFPI was established by the state government to select and train volunteer students to take up careers in the armed forces. Once the student gets enrolled, the additional training process is jointly handled by the school and AFPI. The school provides the academic content and the specific training is provided by AFPI. It is noteworthy that YPS, Patiala has been part of this programme for the last many years with a decent number of students already being trained under this programme.
