PPCB Planted 200 Saplings under Mission Tandarust Punjab

Fatehgarh Sahib-Under the mandate of “Mission Tandarust Punjab” a special drive to plant trees was held at Sant Roop Convent School, Fatehgarh Sahib.

Er. Krunesh Garg, Chief Environmental Engineer, Punjab Pollution Control Board especially came from Head office, Patiala to become a part of the drive. Anurag Goel, Director of the school informed that they have about 4 acres of land and about 3 acres of land in open in which they have already planted 500 trees once the year from the establishment of the school since year 2008. During the drive, about 200 saplings have been planted by the Punjab Pollution Control Board officers, school management and the students. Anurag Goel further informed that the newly planted saplings have been allotted to students who will take care of these plants to ensure their survival. The students will look at these plants on each day and will add observation to their activity sheet as this will be a part of their project and they will be awarded marks for the same.

Er. Krunesh Garg, Chief Environmental Engineer addressed the gathering and appreciated the special drive of plantation in such a manner. He delivered the need of the hour for plantation as the plants are only one source of oxygen which we need to survive. He urged the children and teachers to plant one tree during any occasion like birthday etc.

During the plantation drive, Er. Rakesh Nayyar, Environmental Engineer and Er. Charanjit Rai, Asstt. Environmental Engineer of the Board,  Anurag Goel, Ritu Goel, Directors and Nain Tara, Dean of the school were present.
