NZCC-NTAS conclude Anti-Drug awareness Theatre Campaign

Patiala-An anti-drug Awareness Theatre campaign launched at the instance of Chief Minister Punjab Capt. Amrinder Singh by duo Pran Sabharwal-Sunita Sabharwal under the auspices of  National Theatre Arts Society (NTAS) in association with North Zone Cultural Centre Director Prof. Saubhagya Vardhan concluded at Nandpur Kesho, 20 kms from here, covering five cites around Patiala. The venues include Punjabi Universtiy Campus, Villages Sher Majra, Lung, Kalyan and Nandpur Kesho.

Writer-poet administrator B.S.Rattan, retired IRS, Commissioner Income Tax, G.S. Lambi, Director Youth Welfare department, Punjabi university, Educationists Principals of Government Sr. Secondary Schools like Amarjit Singh (Sher Majra), Inderjit Kaur (Lung), Rajesh Modi (Kalyan) and Gurnam Singh (Nandpur kesho) graced the functions alongwith representatives of the areas.

NTAS Director Pran Sabhwaral, Fellow Theatre Television Department, Punjabi University informed that the compaign festivals ” Punjabi Haas Raag Rang, comprising Nukkad Natak powerful social plays raised awareness about drug abuse, domestic violence gender and social justice, pollution, Corruption, exploitation  wining thundering applause of the appreciative audiences.

The plays including “Avaisley Yuddhan Di Naika”, “Sukki Kukh” by Ajmer Aulkh “Sabz Baagh” aka Lok Tantar-ya-Vantantar, by Jatinder Brar.  “Ik Bechari Maa” by Harsaran Singh, Bhand Naqlaan style “Kaka-Pataka” and “Patang Baaz” by Pran Sabharwal besides folk song dances and one man presentations captivated the people.  The audiences took vow not to take drugs and let others fight against drugs.

Pran Sabharwal expressed gratitude to all the guests, associates especially Patiala D.C. Kumar Amit  DEO Kanwal Kumari, Sarpanches Sat Pal Singh of Kalyan, Harshvinder Singh of Nandpur Kesho, others  and their team of 15artists of the campaign for their cooperation and guidance.
