CM urged to implement Advocates Welfare Fund Act

Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana Disciplinary and Vigilance committee member and senior advocate Charanjit Singh Ghai,while congratulating chief minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on the victory of Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) in the assembly elections in Punjab, demanded immediate implementation of Advocates Welfare Fund Act.
In a statement issued here on Thursday Ghai has also demanded that the rent of lawyers chambers of the last two years should be waived off as the courts could not function properly due to Covid-19 pandemic during this period.
He also demanded that the grants must be released for the libraries of all the Bar Associations of the state and judicial court complexes must be constructed at all the remaining places in the state.
He said that the work for the construction of proposed new judicial courts complex at Rupnagar should be started at the earliest and all the required facilities including lawyers chambers, washrooms and parking facility must be provided in the complex.
