MP Patiala Preneet Kaur calls upon Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari along with the members of Kissan Road Sangarsh committee to take up the issue of passing of rewards for land acquired by NHAI in Derabassi and Banur.
Talking to media after meeting with the minister, the Patiala MP said that, ‘The members of the Kissan Road Sangarsh committee had called upon me few days back to take up the matter of land acquisition under the project Bhartmala NH205A in Derabassi and Banur. So, today I took them along to meet the Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari Ji and informed him of the genuine demands of these farmers. Gadkari listened to their demands and has promised us that he will ensure early resolution to these demands.’
Preneet Kaur further said that, ‘The Sangarsh committee had brought it to my notice that the awards of 28 villages land falling in this project were sent to the National Highway Authority of India project implementation unit Ambala by DRO SAS Nagar on 30th September 2021, but even after seven months they haven’t received any compensation.’
She further said that, ‘The revenue authorities had printed the note on jamabandi of land acquisition due to which the farmers are now unable to buy, sell, mortgage and swap these particular lands.”
We are hopeful that the Transport Minister will immediately resolve this matter and will provide major relief to around 3200 families of marginal farmers, she concluded.
