Medical Students organize National Conference

A two day National UG (undergraduate) conference “Remedium-2022” was organized by the medical students in Government Medical College Patiala.
The highlights of the conference included innovative workshops, medical quiz, clinical case and research paper presentations, debates and poster presentations on basic life support, transfusion medicine, dermatology, and radiation oncology along with various other medical specialties.
Appreciating the efforts of the medical students as chief guest of the inaugural session, Principal Secretary of the Department of Medical Education & Research Hussan Lal (IAS) said the conference is a good platform for the students to share ideas and innovative ways relating to the medical field. Sharing his good and bad experiences of the Covid-19 pandemic, he said the pandemic did lot of damage with many doctors losing their life but focused the attention of the governments and public creating better healthcare infrastructure and manpower along with awareness in the people for healthy lifestyle.

Director Research and Medical Education Dr. Avnish Kumar greeting the students for this unique medico-cultural feast, said such programmes provide the students great opportunity to exchange experiences and develop the leadership qualities. Director Principal of the college Dr. Harjinder Singh welcoming the guests and the delegates said more than 600 medical students from different medical colleges of Punjab and the adjoining states have participated in the conference giving the upcoming medical professionals the opportunity to face the practical challenges and solutions in the medical field.
Vice President of Punjab Medical Council Dr. Girish Sahni, Joint DRME Dr. AD Aggarwal, Vice Principal Dr. RPS Sibia, Medical Superintendent Dr. HS Rekhi, heads of various departments along with faculty and representatives of Punjab State Medical & Dental Teachers Association were also present in the inaugural programme.
