Undertrial prisoner of Rupnagar jail dies under mysterious circumstances

An undertrial prisoner lodged in Rupnagar district jail died under mysterious circumstances on Friday.
According to the jail management, the undertrial prisoner Suman Kumar(24) of Kharar was sent to the Civil Hospital this morning after his health deteriorated where doctors declared him brought dead. Under trial prisoner Suman Kumar,who was lodged in Rupnagar jail under judicial custody in a murder case.
According to Jail superintendent Kulwant Singh, the prisoner Suman was healthy and had fever a day earlier and he was given medicine in the jail. This morning his health deteriorated and he was sent to the hospital emergency. Where the doctor declared him brought dead.
Kulwant Singh said that inquest proceedings would be conducted in the matter by the judicial magistrate.
Meanwhile, the family members of Suman demanded justice in the matter.
