Math Melas in schools getting encouraging response-Secy Education

Under the on going, “Parho Punjab, Parhao Punjab” project , the education secretary, Krishan Kumar, held a meeting with the Math and Punjabi teachers deputed as District Mentors and subject experts, at the Conference Hall, Mini Secretariat, Patiala. He reviewed the progress of the “Parho Punjab, Parahao Punjab” project in making the teaching – learning process in the subject of Mathematics activity oriented.
“The teachers have started adopting the innovative activities to make it easy for the students to learn the basic concepts of Mathematics. The ” Math Melas” being organised at the school level have been getting encouraging response from the teachers, students as well as parents”, said the Education Secretary while exhorting the District Mentors and the subject experts to dedicate themselves with more zest to achieve the objective of enabling the students to get rid of math phobia.
“Besides, the ” Parho Punjab, Parhao Punjab” project to develop language skills in Punjabi among the upper primary students has also been started. The main objective of starting project to boost innovative teaching techniques in Punjabi language is to enhancing the level of the students to read and write Punjabi properly”, further said Krishan Kumar while asking the Punjabi teachers to devise new methods and techniques so that the students can master the language skills, which ultimately would help them to learn other subject effectively.
The District Mentors were also sensitised to upload the data of baseline tests in the subjects of Math and Punjabi on the portal.
