The installation ceremony of 44th President of Rotary Club Rupnagar Er. Parminder Kumar was held at Hotel Grand Orchard. The Chief Guest of this function was former Governor of Rotary District 3080 and Member of Punjab Infrastructure Regulatory Authority Er. Manmohan Singh.
The ceremony began with the lighting of lamp and the guests were informed about the various social service activities conducted by the Rotary Club Rupnagar in the previous Rotary year. After that Er. Parminder Kumar was formally installed as president of the club.
In his address, Er. Parminder Kumar gave information about the proposed works to be done in the year 2022-23, in which importance was given to projects like environment conservation and traffic awareness. The new president also introduced his team to the visiting guests, including Director Community Services J.K. Bhatia, Club Services Narendra Bhola, Vocational Services Dr. B.P. S. Parmar, International Services DS. Deol, club trainer Amar Raj Saini, secretary Ajay Talwar, treasurer Jaswinderjit Singh.
Former district governor Dr. R.S.Parmar and Chetan Agarwal will provide their services as advisors. Apart from this two vice presidents. Bhim Sen and Dr. Usha Bhatia will also be in their team. The new president was introduced by former president and chairman of the installation ceremony Dr. J.K. Sharma
In his address, the Assistant District Governor highly appreciated the work done by the Rotary Club and gave his best wishes for the coming year and promised their full cooperation. Addressing the gathering, eminent social worker and former District Governor of Rotary District 3080 Dr. R.S. Parmar congratulated the new team, and encouraged them to do more social service and asked them to do something exclusive in their work so that maximum services can be given to the society.
In his address, the Chief Guest Er. Manmohan Singh discussed in detail the work of Rotary International around the world and appealed to all the members to give maximum contribution to the Rotary Foundation. He said that Rotary Club Rupnagar is among the foremost clubs of the Rotary district and this year also it will further increase its social service activities. The club president presented a check to the chief guest for the amount of Rs. 86,990 equivalent to US$ 1100 for the Rotary Foundation.
The whole ceremony was moderated by former president Rotarian Prabhjit Singh.Former District Governor of Rotary District 3080 Praveen Goyal specially attended the function. Representatives of nearby Rotary Clubs like Nangal Central, Morinda, Kharar, Chandigarh also participated in this function.
On this occasion, representatives of eminent social service organisations of the town Bharat Vikas Parishad president Mandeep Modgil and Secretary Vishal Vasudeva ,Naina Jeevan Jyoti Club President Dhruv Narang ,Inner Wheel Club President Meenal Vasudeva and Secretary Mandeep Kaur ,Rotarian R.C. Grover, O.P. Malhotra, Pradeep Sharma, Kulwant Singh, Amarjit Singh Chandel, Uday Verma, Ankur Verma, Naveen Soni, Sandeep Taneja, Sanjay Sood, Sanjeev Khera, Inderpreet Singh, B.S. Satyal, Harish Oberoi, Navinder Banwait etc were present.
