‘Team Fateh’ of Thapar Institute proved their mettle amongst premier institutes of India ; won six national awards

Formula Student team ‘Team Fateh’ and its Faculty Advisor of Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology (TIET), Patiala has won six National awards in SAE India and Maruti Suzuki Organized, SUPRA SAE 2022 Formula Student event held during 22nd -25th August 2022 at Buddh International Circuit, Greater Noida.
Students of TIET once again proved their mettle among 51 teams registered from all premier institutes of the country. Formula style race cars, designed, build and run by the students under the strict guidelines and safety measures.
Technical knowledge of TIET students and their brilliant engineering skills has carry forwarded the legacy of brilliant engineering education provided by TIET in the service of nation.In this event, ‘Team Fateh’ has won five trophies with cash awards of Rs.2,10,000 and Faculty Advisor Dr. Devender Kumar, Assistant Professor, Mechanical Engineering Department has been awarded with “Dronacharya Award” for his expertise, and best faculty advisor of the competition.
The different category of awards is as:
- Overall Winner- 2nd (Trophy+ Rs.1.0 Lakh Cash Award)
2. EnduranceAward – 1st (Trophy + Rs.30,000/- Cash Award)
3. Acceleration Award –1st (Trophy + Rs.30,000/- Cash Award)
4. Best Engine Tuning Award- 1st (Trophy + Rs.30,000/- Cash Award)
5. Engineering Design Award- 2nd (Trophy + Rs.20,000/- Cash Award) - “Dronacharya Award” (Best Faculty Advisor Award) – Dr. Devender Kumar
The same ‘Team Fateh’ under the supervision of the same Faculty Advisor was also the overall 1st position winner in static events, overall 3rd position winner in dynamic events, 1st in Cost & Manufacturing Event, 2nd in Engineering Design Event and 3rd in Business Plan Event in ‘Formula Bharat’ events held at Kari Motor Speedway, Coimbatore during 20-25th January, 2022. As per the Faculty Advisor Dr. Devender Kumar, Team Fateh has strong foundation of motor sports and team is also preparing for design and development of electric race cars for the future events held in India and abroad.
With the dream to become one of the best FS Teams in the country and worldwide, Team Fateh will always strive to keep innovating, experimenting and building a community of excellent engineers at Thapar Institute, Patiala.
