47 students of Central University of Punjab shine in UGC-NET Examinations

The students of the Central University of Punjab have made an impressive mark in the UGC NET Examinations, which is a test to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for ‘Assistant Professor’ and ‘Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor’ in Indian universities and colleges. As many as 47 Central University of punjab, Bathinda (CUPB) students from 15 different departments of the university have qualified for Junior Research Fellowships and /or Eligibility for Assistant Professorship in the UGC-NET December 2021 and June 2022 (Merged Cycles) results declared by the National Testing Agency (NTA)  on November 5, 2022.

Out of 47 students, 12 qualified for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and 35 qualified for eligibility of Assistant Professorship.

A maximum of 6 students were qualified from the Department of English, followed by 5 students each from the Department of Law and the Department of Mass Communications and Media Studies, respectively. The other disciplines from which students qualify for this exam are Hindi, Punjabi, Physical Education, Applied Agriculture, Environmental Science and Technology, Psychology, Financial Administration, Economics, Performing and Fine Arts, History, Geography and Sociology. The examinations for UGC-NET December 2021 and June 2022 (Merged Cycles) were conducted by NTA in 4 phases up to October 22, 2022.

47 students of Central University of Punjab shine in UGC-NET Examinations. On this occasion, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari congratulated students for bringing laurels to the university. He stated that it is a moment of immense pride for us that such a large number of students have qualified for UGC-NET examinations. He mentioned that this success is the result of recently introduced innovative reforms, including LOCF based curriculum development, student centric pedagogies, and an innovative teaching-learning and evaluation process. He lauded the efforts of faculty members, under whose guidance CUPB students have accomplished this milestone.
