PSPCL’s former director along with former Congress MLAs brother, nephew booked by police

To tighten the noose around builders and developers, the Patiala Development Authority (PDA) has lodged an FIR against the erring builders or owners , developers under the Punjab Apartment and Property Regulation Act, 1995 (Amendment Act 2014) at Sadar police station, Patiala.
In this context a case has been registered against 10 colonizers, including on Gagandeep Singh , former director administration Punjab state power corporation limited (PSPCL) who is a son of Madan Lal Jalalpur, former MLA of Ghanour constituency. He was appointed director by Charanjit Singh Channi in November 2021. He remained on the post even after AAP came into power in March. Later in may 2022, he was removed from the director’s post.
The case was registered against the brother and nephew of the former MLA Ghanour on the recommendation of PDA officials.
The FIR is registered against Amrik Singh, Harjit Kaur, Gurvinder Singh, Pushpinder Singh, Santokh Singh, residents of Punjabi University, near Patiala, Rajinder Singh Singh, Manjit Singh, Kamaldeep Singh, Gagandeep Singh, residents of village Jalalpur, Sukhdev Singh, residents of Sant Hazara Singh, residents of Sanur, under Section 36 (1) 36 (3) of the Punjab apartment and Property Regulation Act.
Rajinder Singh is the brother and Kamaldeep Singh is the nephew of the former congress MLA from Ghanour Madan Lal Jalapur.

An official of the PDA on the condition of anonymity said that “no one would be spared in this case, how powerful he is or remained as the illegal activities cause huge damage to the state exchequer in the form of tax evasion.”
In June this year than Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development) ,Patiala Gautam Jain had asked the SSP Patiala to register FIRs against 74 colonisers under Section 36 of the Punjab Apartment and Property Regulation Act (PAPRA) for developing illegal colonies in the district. As many as 17 colonies fall in the jurisdiction of Sanaur Municipal Council.
