History sheeter committed suicide; leveled mental torture allegation on SHO; Patiala police assures fair investigation

Today, in the morning a resident of Gurmukh Singh Dhaliwal of Markal Colony, Patiala has committed suicide by pouring petrol on himself in his office at Rori Kut Mohalla.
He was shifted to Govt Rajindra Hospital, where he succumbed to his burn injuries.
As soon as the news spread, BJP leader Jai Inder kaur, newly designated BJP district president KK Malhotra and other BJP leaders reached Rajindra Hospital mortuary, where his dead body was kept for post mortem.
The BJP leaders demanded action against the SHO, special cell, Patiala, GS Sikand for torturing Gurmukh and his family. They staged a dharna at the mortuary and demanded the registration of FIR, action against SHO GS Sikand. Jai Inder Kaur leveled serious allegations on Sikand.
As per police records he is one of the major “Satta” player of Patiala. On October 2 this year Sikand had booked Gurmukh Singh in a 420 and gambling act and recovered a huge amount of Rs 66,65,345 from him.
As per the police record, Gurmukh was a history sheeter and a total 15 cases were registered against him since February 15,2005. Most of the cases were registered under 13 A/ 367 gambling act. But he was also booked under 21/61/85 NDPS act, under 420 (cheating), under 307 (A shoots at Z with intention to kill him, under such circumstances that, if death ensued. A would be guilty of murder) and under various acts on different occasions.
SP City, Patiala, Wajir Singh said “that today on 28-12-2022, Gurmukh Singh son of Bhan Singh, a resident of Markal Colony, Patiala, committed suicide by setting himself on fire near his office at Rori Kut Mohalla, Patiala.A video of which has gone viral on social media, in which many allegations have been made by the said Gurmukh Singh. It is to be noted here that a total of 15 cases have been registered against the said Gurmukh Singh under various crimes, including murder with intention, NDPS Act and Gambling Act . Gurmukh Singh has been convicted in 07 cases. “
