Rupnagar DC directs SPCA to protect the animals

Deputy Commissioner Rupnagar Dr. Preeti Yadav instructed the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals(SPCA) to ensure protection  of stray and pet animals,during a meeting of SPCA held here on Wednesday.

Deputy Commissioner said that protecting the stray or pet animals is a common responsibility of all of us for which the citizens should take membership of the SPCA.He appealed and said that social workers and youth should take maximum membership of SPCA so that along with the protection of animals, necessary funds can also be collected and adequate arrangements can be made for their rescue.
She said that any person can get his name registered in the society by contacting the animal husbandry department and can make his important contribution for the protection of animals.

Rupnagar DC directs SPCA to protect the animals. While presiding over the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner further said that SPCA should carry out the work of protection of animals in a proper manner with the support of government and private institutions under which the responsibilities of all should be determined according to the policy.

Dr. Preeti Yadav said that SPCA registered volunteers will be given training to take care of stray injured animals, for which first aid kits will also be provided soon. Apart from this, every effort will be made to provide funds for SPCA from the government for all the works. On this occasion, she also instructed to open a bank account of the  SPCA.
She said that keeping in mind the winter season, all the people who do the work of animal transportation, should always cover them in their vehicles so that the animals are protected from the cold.
