Rotary Club Rupnagar celebrated International Women’s Day

Rotary Club Rupnagar celebrated International Women’s Day at Rotary Bhawan under this year’s theme for International Women’s Day, “Innovation and technology for gender equality”. Club President Engineer Parminder Kumar welcomed the members of the club & other invited guests at this occasion.

Past Rotary District Governor, acclaimed surgeon of the area & notable social activist Dr R S Parmar inaugurated the program. In his inaugural address he appreciated the social works being done by the women’s in society & in Rotary Club Rupnagar.

In her key note address, Past President Dr Usha Bhatia explores the ways in which women and girls are leading the charge on climate change adaptation, mitigation and response around the world, contributing powerful leaders and change-makers to a more sustainable future for all. She further said that we greatly cherish the role of women in India’s progress.

In another address by the president elect of rotary club Rupnagar Dr Namrita Parmar said women are increasingly being recognized in the society & the best example in her own club is that the next year’s club leadership is in the hands of women only.

Rotary Club Rupnagar celebrated International Women’s Day .Past President Dr JK Sharma in his address emphasized that we need more women innovators & business leaders who can take the country to new heights, develop green jobs and build a more sustainable world.

Cake cutting ceremony was also performed at this occasion. Club Secretary Advocate Ajay Talwar presented the vote of thanks.

Past District Governor Chetan Agarwal, Past President D S Deol, Amar Raj Saini, H S Saini, JK Bhatia, Rotarian Dr Antdeep Kaur & Dr Parminder Singh were also present.
