Verka Milk Plant to prepare food packets daily for flood affected residents

To cater to the immediate need of the displaced/stranded residents of Patiala, and Sangrur districts due to flooding, Verka Milk Plant Patiala has been entrusted to prepare food packets daily, as per the demand.

Divulging the details, Deputy Commissioner, Sakshi Sawhney said that in consonance with the announcement of the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to extend relief to the people affected by flooding, the packets of the food were being prepared in the Verka Plant, Patiala here, for distribution in the flood affected parts of Patiala and Sangrur districts.

Sawhney said that each packet would have two packets of Biscuits along with two bottles of Water, two packets of Verka Fino Milk, Bread, Verka Kaju Pinni, Spoons, Cups, Candles and Matchsticks.

General Manager, Verka Milk Plant, Patiala Dr. Surjit Singh Bhadour apprised that that to complete this gigantic exercise, sufficient manpower has been deployed. Verka Milk Plant, Patiala is supplying this humanitarian need to the general public of affected area from yesterday under the guidance of Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh and Worthy Deputy Commissioner  Sakshi Sawhney and ensures maximum help could be given to the affected people.

DFSC, Patiala Dr. Ravinder Kaur said that considering the demand made by Patiala and Sangrur administrations, the supply of food packets will be made in the affected areas.
