A meeting of the College Development Council of Guru Nanak Dev University was held in the Syndicate Room of the University under the chairmanship of Prof. Sarabjot Singh Behl, Dean, Academic Affairs. This meeting was convened to discuss crucial matters concerning the development and enhancement of affiliated colleges under the council’s purview.
The agenda for the meeting was presented by Dr. Shalini Bahel, Dean, College Development Council, who skill fully navigated the deliberations towards addressing pivotal issues concerning the affiliated colleges. The meeting covered a wide range of subjects, each with the aim of enhancing the educational landscape and promoting academic excellence. Prof. Palwinder Singh, Professor Incharge Examinations presented vote of thanks. A large number of principals and members of the Council were present.
In the meetings various issues relating to colleges education were discussed which includes NAAC Accreditation of Affiliated Colleges. The meeting emphasized the importance of NAAC accreditation for affiliated colleges. All affiliated colleges were urged to undergo accreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Colleges, who are not yet accredited, were strongly advised to initiate the accreditation process within the next three months.
Colleges were also instructed to follow strict Compliance of UGC Guidelines 2018. Appointment of Regular Principals and Staff as per the norms set forth by the UGC, the University, and the Punjab Government; Deduction CPF and Retired Staff Benefits in accordance with the specifications outlined in the University Calendar; Adherence to Regulatory Norms and instructions issued by regulatory bodies such as UGC, NCTE, and BCI.
