Seminar held on the current situation of energy sector in India

A seminar on ‘Current Situation of the Energy Sector in India  ‘ was held today at Rajkot and the effects of privatization of the power sector in different states, consumers and employees were discussed, said V K Gupta Spokesperson AIPEF.

Shailendra  Dubey, Chairman  All India Power Engineers Federation(AIPEF) delivered the  keynote address. Baladev.S.Patel Senior Secretary General and  NC Ghelani, Senior Secretary General, Akhil Gujarat Vidyut Kamdar Sangh, B M Shah, Secretary General, GEB Engineers Association , Chief Engineer of PGVCL  R.J. Wala , General Manager (Finance)  K.S. Malkan and others addressed the delegates. The seminar was organised under the initiative of Gujarat Energy Coordinating Committee, Rajkot

Dubey gave a  comprehensive understanding of the current situation in India and the role of power companies in the field and informed the officials and employees present about the old pension scheme. The future of the energy sector was also outlined in this seminar.

Dubey explained   in  detail the situations arising after the privatization of the power sector in different states, and  informed  about the effects on consumers and employees .

Various speakers applauded the performance of all the companies under Gujarat Power Corporation and said that even though the power companies in Gujarat are owned by the government, yet they are performing very satisfactorily as compared to other states.

B M Shah said that it should also be noted here that during various natural calamities like earthquakes, storms, heavy rains, etc., against the very poor performance of other private power sector companies, government power sector companies perform admirably at service prices and promptly restore power supply.

Shailendra Dubey also addressed thermal plant employees at Gandhinagar on Tuesday.
