Iqbal Singh Lalpura organises religious function to mark the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji

A religious function was held at the residence of Iqbal Singh Lalpura, Chairman, National Commission for Minorities and member of the BJP’s Central Parliamentary Board and Selection Committee, in New Delhi to mark the 554th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
It was attended by thousands of devotees from all over the country and abroad. On this occasion, the ceremony started with the recitation of Rehras Sahib, after which the jathas of Hazoori Ragi Bhai Kuldeep Singh Khalsa and Bhai Gurdev Singh Australia of Sri Darbar Sahib performed Gurbani Kirtan and connected the sangat with the Guru Charan. On this occasion, BJP National General Secretary B.L. Santosh , Union Sports Minister of India Anurag Thakur, Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs John Barla, MP Gautam Gambhir, Chairman of Delhi State Haj Committee Kausar Jahan, Sirajuddin Qureshi from India Islamic Culture Center and Buddha were also present. Jains, leaders belonging to Christianity, political, social and religious personalities participated.
The most special feature of this event was that leaders of all religions participated in this event and discussions were held to promote mutual harmony and communal harmony. The guests were welcomed by BJP District Rupnagar President Ajayveer Singh Lalpura. On this occasion, Chairman Lalpura said that we are all celebrating the 554th Prakash Purb of Jagat Guru Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
He lauded the good work done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the Sikh community and prayed for his good health, long life and success. Sardar Lalpura said that in today’s time, thoughts on the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev ji are very relevant in spreading peace, brotherhood and harmony all over the world. He said that while Guru Nanak Dev ji gave the message of kirt karo, nam japo and wand shako, he also encouraged the world to respect women without any discrimination. Guruji gave the form of langar to the ideology of equality, where the entire sangat, forgetting caste, religion, sits in the same pangat and serves langar.”If we apply his messages, teachings in our daily lives, adapt our lifestyle and thoughts accordingly, then surely we will be able to find a new world of peace and the path to development will be very simple,” he said.

On this occasion, Ajayveer Singh Lalpura congratulated the sangat on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Jagat Guru Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. He said that If we look closely at the contemporary situation, it is very easy to feel that the principles or concepts on the basis of which Guru Nanak Dev ji laid the foundation of the Sikh intellectual tradition are very logical and meaningful to solve our present problems.
Apart from political personalities, a large number of sangat including BJP national leaders, top officials of the Government of India, senior IAS, IPS, eminent lawyers, Punjab film industry, literature etc. were present on the occasion.
