Best Thesis Award to GND University Scholar

As per the information received from the National Organic Symposium Trust (NOST) Council, Dr. Sukhmeet Kaur has been chosen for Sailife-NOST Best Thesis Award 2018. A jury, approved by the President, NOST Trust, has made the selection from the nominations received from numerous reputed institutes and research laboratories. NOST is the only platform in India for assessing the Ph.D. research work of the scholars in the field of Organic and Medicinal Chemistry.
Worked in the research group of Prof. Palwinder Singh in the Department of Chemistry, the Ph.D. research of Sukhmeet pertains to the design and synthesis of new molecules useful for the treatment of inflammatory diseases as well as the development of new antidotes of cyanide poisoning. The research work has been published in high impact journals such as Journal of Medicinal Chemistry published by the American Chemical Society and she also has two patents to her credit.
The award, carrying a cash prize of INR 10,000 will be presented during XIV J-NOST 2018, being organized in CSIR-IICT, Hyderabad (November 28-December 1, 2018), in a specially organized award function.
