Important file from PSPCL official records gone missing; may impact vigilance probe

In a surprise move, an important file from Punjab state power corporation limited (PSPCL) official record has gone missing.

As per available information, the file number DPT-57 part 03 of superintending engineer, projects (Thermal Design) related to the bidding of Rajpura Thermal Plant, from May 28,2008 to July 24,2008 is not traceable.

The powercom officials has asked all deputy chief engineers, superintending engineers of IPC, electrical, accounts officers of thermal design department to trace the file.

“The said file is important as the vigilance bureau has initiated the probe in the PPAs signed with private thermal plants” said a officer.

“The powercom authorities has not made any police complaint in this regard as they first want to ensure that the said file is not in their record or with any officers, offices ” said another officer.

As per available information, Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) has submitted records regarding power purchase agreements (PPAs) with two thermal power (TSPL and NPL) along with others to the State Vigilance Bureau as investigation gets underway.

The Aam Aadmi Party had promised to probe all PPAs signed during the tenure of the previous Akali-BJP government, before the 2022 Assembly poll.
