British Council resource person shared valuable information with Govt Bikram College students under English work program

An orientation for ” English work program “is meticulously organised by the Department of English of Govt Bikram College of Commerce, Patiala under the discerning leadership of the College Principal Prof (Dr) Kusum Lata on 16th January 2024. English work program is a collaborative effort between the Government of Punjab and the British Council driving to empower students with essential employability skills.
The Orientation event, introducing the program witnessed enthusiastic participation by 150 students. Renowned resource person Shilpa Sardesai, an experienced teacher from British Council shared valuable information about the course, the personal learner dashboard, the technical specifications for accessing the course,proven “flipped classroom “approach combining self-study flexibility with live interactive classes.
The guest speaker answered all the queries of the students about the course. Interested students appeared for the pre-test and got themselves registered. The students cleared the test with different levels scoring from 200 to 595 marks. The program seems to be proving to be a milestone in fostering education and employability.
Dr. Paramjit Kaur (Nodal Officer) led the coordination effort along with Prof. Priyanka Puri and Dr.Jaspreet Kaur with an aim to equip students with vital employability skills.
