BJP sounds poll bugle; releases first list of candidates; Muslim candidate part of first list

The saffron party of India Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday announced the first list of 195 candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha election.
BJP announced the candidature of 195 contestants from various parts of India.T Prime Minister Narendra Modi will fight again from Varanasi in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. 34 Union Ministers including Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Gajendra Shekhawat, Jyotiraditya, Scindia ,Smriti Irani,Mansukh Mandaviya, Jitendra Singh, Sarbananda Sonowal, Bhupender Yadav, G Kishan Reddy, Kiren Rijiju, Rajeev Chandrashekhar, Arjun Ram Meghwal and Arjun Munda. etc in the first list of 195 candidates.
The list saw major changes for Delhi with Ramesh Bidhuri, Parvesh Verma, Meenakshi Lekhi and Harsh Vardhan being dropped from their respective seats, while Sadhvi Pragya Thakur was also dropped from her Bhopal seat.
Party national general secretary Vinod Tawade announced the candidates on – 51 seats from Uttar Pradesh, 20 from West Bengal, 24 from Madhya Pradesh, 15 each from Gujarat and Rajasthan, 12 from Kerala, 9 seats from Telangana, 11 from Assam, 11 each from Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh, 5 from Delhi, 2 from Jammu and Kashmir, 3 from Uttarakhand, 2 from Arunachal Pradesh and 1 each from Goa, Tripura, Andaman and Nicobar, and Daman and Diu. As per the list, 28 women and 47 young leaders are who got BJP ticket.

Modi has set a target for the BJP to win at least 370 seats on its own in this Lok Sabha election and more than 400 for the NDA.
