In a late night move, the management of Punjab state Power Corporation limited has cancelled the transfer orders of Jagtar Singh, additional superintending engineer (ASE) from Faridkot to Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) and posted him back as ASE, APDRP, Faridkot.
As per Punjab State Electricity Board Engineers’ Association (PSEBEA) spokesperson “on march 12,2024 Adl SE (ASE) Jagtar Singh, who was posted as ASE APDRP Faridkot had been given punishment posting and transferred to BBMB at the behest of Amolak Singh, MLA Jaitu”
On March 13,2024 royalpatiala.in News Portal had prominently highlighted the issue and published a News “PSEB Engineers’ Association meets power minister against political transfer of powercom’s senior engineer” .
Earlier on March 13,2024 morning a delegation of PSEB Engineers Association (PSEBEA) led by Ajay Pal Singh Atwal had met the state power Minister and demanded the cancellation of transfer order of Jagtar Singh Add. SE to BBMB which was done purely on political grounds.
“It may be mentioned that Jagtar Singh Add . S E had been transferred twice in around two weeks time. He was posted at Kotakpura where he didn’t oblige the Jaitu MLA Amolak Singh. From Kotakpaura he was transferred to APDRP Faridkot and from their he was transferred to outside Punjab at BBMB on March 12 under political pressure of the said MLA. He was again transferred after he refused to issue no objection certificate (NOC) to a junior engineer without rendering the pending accounts worth 25 lakhs as per rules. Earlier Add.SE was shifted from the distribution division APDRP cell under political pressures. All these transfers have been done as concerned JE is a relative of MLA” had alleged the spokesperson of the PSEB Engineers Association.

After two days, the management takes the ‘U’ turn and cancelled its earlier order of ASE Jagtar Singh and posted him again as ASE, APDRP, Faridkot.
PSEBEA has thanked the power minister Harbhajan Singh ETO and CMD PSPCL Baldev Singh Sran for acceding to their genuine demand of canceling transfer done under political pressure.
