DIG Patiala range issues instructions to SSPs ‘’No NGOs, Homeguard Jawan should be posted in their home Sub Division’

As per the direction of Worthy Director General of Police, Punjab Chandigarh, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Harcharan Singh Bhullar, IPS, DIG Patiala Range, Patiala with the SSPs of Patiala Range Districts to curtail the scope of Drug smuggling and to tone Police towards their duty.

The DIG Bhullar has instructed all the SSPs that the Police personnel under their respective jurisdiction should be vigilant and to improve their work and conduct and friendly dealing with public to sort out their grievances. He also directed to take necessary action against anti social elements and to maintain Law & order situation as well as crime control.

Further directed to all SSPs to transfer the police officials from Constable to Inspector rank should be done on administrative grounds in accordance to Punjab Police rules and as per the transfer policy issued by the DGP Punjab. No police official and Homeguard Jawan should be posted in their home Sub Division.

In Compliance of the above, according to the transfer policy SSPs of Patiala range have done major reshuffled in their respective districts.

In this regard, a total 916 police officials from the rank of Constable to Inspectors have been transferred, out of which SSP Patiala has transferred- 537 , SSP Sangrur- 188, SSP Barnala -118 and SSP Malerkotla-73 NGOs.

Apart from this, police officials from the rank of ASI to Inspectors who are covered under the transfer policy have also been transferred from one district to another district of Patiala range and the names of some officials also recommended transferring them out of the Patiala Range. It is also clarified here that as per the instructions and guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India and the Director General of Police, Punjab, regarding the Lok Sabha Election 2024, SI and Inspector rank officials who had three years of service in one district and posted in Home districts were already transferred to another district in the Patiala range.

Earlier, DIG Patiala Range Patiala has held a meeting with all the SSPs, SPs and DSPs and according to the instructions of DGP Punjab to adopt the Zero-tolerance policy against drug and organised/heinous crime. In which drug hotspots should be kept on strict vigil and random raids/checking should be followed to check habitual NDPS criminals, CASO operations should be conducted in a planned manner and take strict action against drug smugglers, backward and forward linkage should be investigated properly and should also be arrested accordingly. The officers are also instructed to identify the big Fishes and take strict action to break the supply chain. They were asked to make maximum use of Section 68F of the NDPS Act to freeze the properties illegally acquired by drug suppliers.

DIG Patiala range issues instructions to SSPs ‘’No NGOs, Homeguard Jawan should be posted in their home Sub Division’. The SSPs has also been directed not to spare any police officials who are involved in corruption or connivance of police official with drug traffickers. Such Black Sheep must be handed strictly and departmental action/ exemplary punishments should be ensured against them. All officers/officials have been asked to interact with people in good/polite behaviour and according to the directions of DGP Punjab, all Circle Officers, SHOs and in-charge Police Posts remain available at their office on daily working days from 11 am to 01 pm and hear the citizens and resolve their grievances.

Apart from this, as per the orders of the High Court and higher officers, the pending complaints should be disposed of in a timely manner and a special campaign should be initiated to arrest the accused involved in Heinous Crime and GOs will supervised personally such cases . No anti-social activity/person should be spared at any cost. All SHOs should be ensuring proper patrolling in their jurisdiction on daily basis, review of law and order situation and citizen-friendly policing.
