Bollywood star Aksay kumar came forward to help daughter of late eminent Punjabi folk singer and Padma Bhushan awardee Gurmeet Bawa’s daughter Glory Bawa.

Glory Bawa was facing some finical crises after seeing a  video of glory Bawa cine star Aksay Kumar sent her rupees 25 lac & he said it is just a small gesture in the regard of Gurmeet Bawa ji & he added it is not help ..it is love from brother to a sister .

Confirming the same, Glory Bawa said, I got a call from my Bank around an hour ago. The bank officials said Akshay Kumar Bhatia has transfer an amount of Rs 25 lac in your account. “

Earlier, Punjab Cabinet minister Kuldeep Dhaliwal visited her home and presented her with a Rs 1 lakh cheque as assistance after Glory Bawa called out the government for turning its back on artistes, sharing the story of her financial struggles in a video that went viral.

Amritsar DC Ghanshyam Thori had also presented another Rs 1 lakh cheque to her on behalf of the District Red Cross Society. Glory, who is the sole earning member left in the family of folk singers.

Gurmeet Bawa was an Indian Punjabi language folk singer. She was known as Lambi hek di malika (transl. Queen of singing in an extended breath) for her long hek (transl. holding breath during a song) that she could hold for about 45 seconds. She was the first Punjabi female singer to sing on Indian public service broadcaster, Doordarshan. She was awarded Padma Bhushan by Indian government in 2022.
