In a major development, the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Wednesday asked the Haryana Government to open the Shambhu border within a week.
On July 6, a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking directions to allow passing of public transports and vehicles from Shambhu border.
The Punjab and Haryana high court on Wednesday directed the Haryana government to remove barricades at the Shambhu border with Punjab, where a group of farmers have been camping since February 13 when their Delhi Chalo march was halted.
The High Court observed that the closure of the Shambhu border was causing great inconvenience to the general public.
The court directed Punjab to cooperate with Haryana and asked farmer outfits to ensure no untoward incident takes place.
