Employees protest meeting at Ambala seeks restoration of OPS

Government employees including power utilities  employees from Ambala, Kurukshetra, Panchkula, Yamuna Nagar, Hissar  and Karnal   held a OPS Tiranga March at New Anaj Mandi Ambala seeking the restoration of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS)   for all  government employees.  Large number of employees came from 8 districts and participated in the meeting  in New Anaj Mandi .

Vijender Dhariwal, state president said Pension Bahali Sangarsh Samiti (PBSS) is demanding restoration of  pension for 2 lakh government employees and social security for their families. They are seeking an old pension scheme (OPS)  and not a unified pension  scheme (UPS) or new pension scheme (NPS).

General secretary Rishi Nain, Anoop Lather Sr. Vice President and  Swaraj  Verma Mahila Wing In-charge said  that the protest rallies are being held at all the district headquarters throughout Haryana . At the  protest rally  of employees under the banner of  PBSS  resolved to organise a huge state level Tiranga  rally in Hissar  on September 1.

Ramesh Dhiman, President Ambala district said all the employees of different departments participated in the meeting  demanding restoration of the old pension scheme. Poonam Chahal, Kamal deep Hussani ,  Baljit Beniwal and Om Parkash  said that  all the elected representatives MLAs and MPs takes one and more pensions as per their number of tenures , but the same pension is being denied to the employees who put more than 25 to 30 years of services .

Baljit Beniwal from Hissar  said that  If the government does not implement OPS in future, then in the upcoming assembly elections, once again under Vote for OPS, the government employees will not take long to oust the current party from power. In case the government accepts our demand we will welcome the ruling party.
