National Insurance Company Officers’ Association (NICOA) 43rd AGM held at New Delhi; house deliberated on several key issues

The National Insurance Company Officers’ Association (NICOA), the single largest checked-off association of the officers’ community in National Insurance Company Limited, held its 43rd Annual General Meeting last month on at Hotel Amrapali Grand, New Delhi. The first day featured addresses from the outgoing committee and distinguished guests from various associated units.

Special guests from other associations included Trilok Singh, All India General Secretary of GIEAIA and Convener JFTU, Northern Zone, and V. P. Nagar, All India President of the OBC Welfare Association. In his absence, a message from Dr G. Jayamurthy, All India Gen Secy, All India Gen Ins. SC/ST Employees Parishad was shared with the attendees.

From the management side, the event was honored by the presence of Madhumita Jena, Chief Executive of GIPSA, T. Babu Paul, Executive Director of NICL, and S. Kapade,  Deputy General Manager of NICL. In the absence of Mini George, General Manager (HR) of NICL, her message was also read to the participants.

The house deliberated on several key issues concerning the welfare of the officer community, with a focus on restoring the former glory of the National Insurance Company. Discussions emphasized profitable growth while maintaining high service standards and elevating customer service to the next level. Representatives from all regional units shared their concerns, which were thoroughly discussed by the house.

Other association also praised the role of NICOA in Joint Forum (JFTU) which is formed for the betterment of PSGIC and long pending demands of Wage revision, NPS revision and updation of Family pension.

Several constitutional amendments and resolutions were presented, debated, and subsequently approved. The Secretary’s report and the accounts were adopted by the house with overwhelming support. Elections were held for the new committee, with Anshu Shekhar elected as General Secretary, Manas Kanti Sarkar as President, along with their team for the next term.

Neeraj Wasan, Secretary of the host unit (Delhi), expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the delegates from units across India for their participation in the AGM. He extended special thanks to Trilok Singh and other leaders from other organizations for their valuable presence and support. Additionally, Wasan thanked his entire Delhi team for their dedication and tireless efforts in organizing this historic event, which witnessed an impressive turnout. Their effective handling ensured the smooth and successful execution of the AGM. He also expressed his appreciation to the staff of Hotel Amrapali Grand for their cooperation in making the event a success.
