2 transport department officers transferred; Patiala gets regular Secy RTA after many yearss

Punjab government has issued transfer orders of 2 transport department officials. Ravinder Singh Gill is new Secy RTA Patiala along with additional charge of RTO Hoshiarpur. He replaces Pardeep Singh Dhillon who is holding the additional charge of Secy RTA. Dhillon is now RTO SAS Nagar (Mohali) with additional charge of RTO Fatehgarh sahib.
Ravinder Singh Gill has been appointed as a regular Secy RTA, Patiala after his promotion. After the restructuring, the post of Secy RTA , Patiala falls in the kitty of state transport department. Now, as per new system, the transport department officer is to be posted as secy, RTA Patiala.
The jurisdiction of Secretary, Regional Transport Authority, Patiala will comprise Patiala, Fatehgarh Sahib, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, Ludhiana, Roopnagar, Malerkotla and Sangrur.
The secy RTAs will frame and approve the time tables of the routes, renewal of stage carriage permits, transfers of permits, replacement of vehicles, grant of temporary permits, clubbing of permits, conversion of buses from ordinary to HVAC and vice versa, etc.
After the new restructuring done in November 2023, 15 PCS officers and 8 transport department officers will be appointed as RTOs in all the 23 districts. Out of 4 secretary RTAs, three PCS officers and one, transport department officer will do the job.Earlier, the officials remained posted as Secy RTA with additional charge.
