Patiala Management Association organized medical expert talk on ‘Occupational Health Hazards’

The Patiala Management Association (PMA) successfully organized an expert talk on ‘Occupational Health Hazards’ by Dr. Sarit Sharma, Professor Community Medicine and Head Quality & Safety at Dayanand Medical College & Hospital Ludhiana for the members, residents of the royal city Patiala. It was well attended by the members, guests of PMA at Hotel Montage.
The session aimed to educate attendees about various occupational health problems which the industrial workers, health care workers, professionals as well as employers may encounter during their jobs.
President Manu Vats in his welcome address shared relevance of Sharad Purnima with our health perspective as per Ayurveda and extended greetings for Valmiki Jayanti.
Rahul Tayal, Treasurer Patiala Management Association and executive team welcomed the key note speaker Dr. Sarit Sharma and delivered the welcome address. Patron Rupinder Singh and president Manu Vats inducted new member into PMA family. Bhalinder Shah gave brief introduction about the speaker.
Dr Sarit Sharma a MD, FIAPSM, PGDHM, FICHE ,(USA), FIMSA, ACME , Professor- Community Medicine, during the talk enlightened the audience about various occupational health problems which every entrepreneurs, professionals as well as employers may encounter during their jobs. Health problems faced by workers during their occupation are a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. These may be caused by various physical, chemical, biological, psychosocial and mechanical agents. The hazards lead to absenteeism, lower productivity and decreased financial gains in the industry.
During his talk, Dr Sharma also spoke about various preventive measures and Govt legislations for prevention and control of these occupational health hazards. He said our well-being directly impacts our productivity, happiness, and success.
“We must address risk factors leading to Cancers, Accidents, Musculoskeletal diseases, Respiratory diseases, Hearing loss, Circulatory diseases, Stress-related disorders, Communicable diseases. But by prioritizing safety and health, we Enhance productivity and efficiency, Foster economic and social development, Ensure sustainable and fair economic growth” added Dr Sharma
Patiala Management Association organized medical expert talk on ‘Occupational Health Hazards’ . The event was attended by various industrialists, businessmen, doctors, lawyers and other professionals from district Patiala and well-received by participants.
At the end of the session Dr Neeraj gave a vote of thanks.
Later the executive members of PMA honoured the speaker and thanked him for his informative talk.
