On October 22nd, 2024 – Thapar Polytechnic College, Patiala, witnessed a grand start to its highly anticipated annual Technical cum cultural event, TechUtsav2024, with an impressive turnout of over 1,700 students from 37 schools on the first day. The two-day event is set to attract over 3,000 students from more than 70 schools, and Over 200 innovative projects were showcased by the talented students of TPC.”
The event was inaugurated by Chief Guest Anil Bhargava, Chairman of the Managing Committee, TPC. Guest of Honors Dr. Ajay Batish, Deputy Director, and Chief Academic advisor TIET Patiala, and Dr. Gurbinder Singh, Vice-Chairman, managing committee TPC, director LMT school of management, Derabassi and Registrar TIET Patiala were also present. The dignitaries were warmly welcomed by Principal Dr. Ankush Kansal.
The ceremony began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by the National Anthem. Principal Dr. Kansal delivered an inspiring opening address, highlighting the college’s achievements over the past year in his annual report. He expressed pride in the students’ commitment to innovation and excellence.
The Chief Guest, Bhargava, in his address, commended the college for its dedication to fostering a spirit of learning and technological advancement. He emphasized the importance of events like TechUtsav in shaping the future of young innovators and leaders.
The highlight of the ceremony was the much-awaited launch of the college’s annual magazine, VIBRANCE: 2024, a testament to the academic and extracurricular activities accomplished by the institution last year
The ceremony continued with the esteemed presentation of prizes to the college’s Punjab State Board toppers and outstanding academic achievers of the 2021-24 batch. Notably, a distinguished student from the Electrical Engineering department was conferred the prestigious OM Parkash Garg Scholarship for the 2023-24 academic year, a momentous honor bestowed by the honorable Chief Guest and other distinguished dignitaries.

With over 200 projects on display from students across various disciplines, TechUtsav2024 offers a glimpse into the future of technology and innovation. The school students had a fantastic time engaging in a variety of cultural activities on stage and participating in exciting competitions such as Quiz, origami, poster, and logo making where they won attractive prizes. The gaming arcade added to the excitement, offering fun-filled games like the lucky ring, dart game, pyramid, and more, ensuring a day full of enjoyment and entertainment.
