Punjab bye-elections: two wives of MPs amongst 4 candidates announced by Congress

Congress President has approved the proposals to nominate the following members as party candidates for the bye-elections to the Legislative Assemblies of Punjab & West Bengal.
Congress has fielded Amrita Warring, the wife of Punjab Congress chief and Ludhiana MP Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, from Gidderbaha and Jatinder Kaur, the wife of party Gurdaspur MP Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, from Dera Baba Nanak .
All India Congress Committee (AICC) in charge of Punjab affairs Devender Yadav Friday chaired a meeting of senior party leadership including, Raja Warring and leader of the Opposition in Punjab Partap Singh Bajwa, to discuss probable candidates.
In the Barnala Assembly constituency bypoll, Barnala district Congress committee chief Kuldeep Singh Dhillon is fielded.
