A roaring success-once considered an average college, now again Patiala’s Khalsa College is UGC’s autonomous college

It is a matter of great pride for Khalsa College Patiala that its autonomous status has been extended by another 10 years by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi.  It is worth mentioning that five years ago, Khalsa College was granted the status of an autonomous institution by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi certifying the high potential of the college.  Due to the A grade accreditation received by the college from NAAC last year, the University Grant Commission, New Delhi, has extended the duration of this grade of the college by another 10 years.

On the occasion of this happiness, Harjinder Singh Dhami, President, Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee, Sri Amritsar Sahib and  Sukhminder Singh,  Education Secretary, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee in their congratulatory message described this achievement of Khalsa College Patiala as very important.  He also said that the educational institutions run by Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee are making continuous progress.

On this happy occasion, Surjit Singh Rakhra, Honorary Secretary of the College Management Committee, congratulated the college principal and the entire staff for this achievement.  He emphasized the importance of autonomy in promoting innovation, research and overall development in educational institutions.  He also said that the extension of autonomous status to Khalsa College in Patiala is a significant achievement which strengthens its position as a leading institution in the field of education.

Satwinder Singh Tohra  Member of College Governing Body, on this felicitous occasion highly praised the college for its continuous pursuit of academic excellence.He also appreciated the college for being able to formulate its own curriculum, conducting examinations and taking  administrative decisions independently.

Dr.  Dharminder Singh Ubha, Principal, Khalsa College, Patiala, has approached the UGC for an extension of 10 years in the autonomy period of the college.  He appreciated  the efforts of the staff members and students who have contributed to the achievements of the college and also assured them of continuous support in the pursuit of knowledge and excellence.  He said that the status of autonomy not only aligns with the unique vision and mission of Khalsa College but also empowers it to take its own decisions.  This enables us to enhance our research capabilities and provide students with a more comprehensive and industry-relevant curriculum.
