A five-days quality workshop for students on “Hands-on training on Spectrophotometers 2024” concluded at Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib. The five-day workshop was conducted in Central Instrumentation Facility (CIF) of the University by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the University. During the workshop, the students were provided hands-on training on sophisticated analytical instruments including FTIR, UV-Visible, Particle size Zeta sizer and PL spectrophotometers. More than hundred students from various departments including Chemistry, Physics, Food processing technology, Biotechnology and Zoology we benefitted by this workshop.

During this five-day workshop, Prof. (Dr.) Tejbir Singh and Dr. Preet Kaur from Department of Physics, Dr. Rahul Badru, Head of Chemistry department, Dr. Monika Airi from Department of Zoology and Dr. Rupinder Pal Singh, Incharge Food Processing Technology delivered an elaborative talk on FTIR, UV-Visible, Particle size Zeta sizer and PL spectrophotometers, respectively. The applications of all these sophisticated instruments in divergent areas like in structure elucidation, food industry, paint industry, biology, medicine and environmental sampling were also discussed.
