Aarti Verma is new Sr. Superintendent of Post Offices Patiala

Aarti Verma has taken over as Sr. Superintendent of Post Offices, Patiala . This is her first posting. She belongs to Indian Postal Services Batch 2016. Posts offices of District Patiala, Fatehgarh Sahib and Mohali come under Patiala Postal Division.
Department of posts is marching ahead to serve the public in a better way for which various new initiatives has been taken by the department. Post Office Passport Seva Kendar is functioning in Patiala HPO complex and around 45 – 50 applications are being processed in this center. Aadhar updation and enrolment center has also been opened in Patiala HPO complex.
Besides this Aadhar updation and enrolment centers are functioning in 38 other post offices in the division covering all the three districts. The latest development is that two branches i.e. Patiala and Sirhind and 10 Access Points of India Post Payment Bank has been launched on 1.9.2018. All the remaining post offices in the division i.e. 216 branch post offices and 51 Departmental Post Offices will be enrolled as IPPB Access points by the end of December, 2018.
This is envisaged to be the biggest game changer in view of the Government’s commitment to bring the unbanked and under banked sections of society under financial inclusion.Sale of EESL’s UJALA appliances i.e. LED bulbs, tube lights and fans have also been started in Patiala HPO in collaboration with Energy Efficiency Services Limited. The aim of this service is to provide energy efficient appliances cheaper and accessible to the common folks. These will save electricity consumption also. The moto of the department is “DakSewa – Jan Sewa”.
