Dr. Jaswinder Singh took the charge of Bhai Vir Singh Chair, Punjabi University.
Dr. Jaswinder Singh is working as an assistant professor of Sikh studies at Guru Gobind Singh Department of Religious Studies, Punjabi University, Patiala.
He has published over 25 research papers in various national and international journals and has presented papers at more than 30 national and international seminars and conferences.
He has been associated with Bhai Vir Singh Studies for a long time, for which he was awarded the Bhai Vir Singh Shabad-Chintan Award in 2014 and was also honored with the Puran Singh Yuva Sahitya Puraskar in 2019.
Academician associated with Bhai Vir Singh studies took the charge of Bhai Vir Singh Chair. He has edited rare and unpublished works of Puran Singh in five volumes. Recently, he published a collection of Puran Singh’s letters to Bhai Vir Singh under the title of Golden Feathers: Letters from Prof. Puran Singh to Bhai Vir Singh and Some Others (2023), which is a new and vital source to reimagine Bhai Vir Singh’s works.
