Accomplished ‘Mission Mohali Medical Hub’ successfully: Balbir Sidhu

Balbir Singh Sidhu, former Punjab Health Minister and sitting Congress MLA from Mohali during his election campaign for the coming assembly poll said on Friday that making Mohali a world class medical hub was a mission with him. To accomplish it we ensured the start of the state’s 4th Government Medical College here.
He said,” For the last 40 years Punjab had only three Government Medical Colleges. Bhim Rao Ambedkar State Institute of Medical Sciences was a result of this.”
He further said that all the necessary equipment has already been provided here and his aim is that the children of my constituency and even Punjab could get medical education in their own state. With this Medical College, one of my biggest dreams has come true, he asserted.
To further give flip to medical education the foundation stone of Government Nursing College in Phase 6, Mohali has been laid. The college is being set up under Dr. B.R. Ambedkar State Institute of Medical Sciences. A B.Sc Nursing College is also being set up in the Government College right in front of the Medical College. With this, the students will get a good quality of education at affordable fees, said Sidhu.
Accomplished ‘Mission Mohali Medical Hub’ successfully: Balbir Sidhu. Under the mission to make Mohali a Medical Hub , 350 bedded new Civil Hospital in Sector 66 has been sanctioned, he said adding a 30 bedded Community Health Center in Phase 3B1 has been made operational.
No area can be said to be fully developed unless it has world class education and health facilities. Keeping this in mind we have worked hard in past years to bring world class education and health facilities at the door steps of Mohali people, he said. The pace of development which has been unleashed will not stop and he promised to continue to work with the same zeal for the people after winning the poll again, he added.
