Achievers honoured by the Department of Education at World University

To honor and appreciate the achievers with accolades, Annual Prize Distribution Function was held with great zeal and enthusiasm at Department Of Education, Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh sahib. The occasion was graced by Vice-Chancellor, Prof (Dr) Prit Pal Singh.
In the beginning of the program, Dr Harneet Billing, Department Incharge welcomed the dignitaries and introduced about the activities of the Department. She delivered the annual report and highlighted the achievements of the department and gave a glimpse of various activities organised at the department for the holistic development of the students.
The programme was attended by the students, staff members and senior officials of the University. Around 100 certificates and trophies were awarded to students excelling in fine arts, literary and other events organised during the previous years. Academic excellence awards were also given to the students excelling in University semester examinations. For Batch 2016 B.A.-B.Ed Simaranjeet Kaur, Rajvir Kaur, parwinder Kaur and Mohini were awarded for their outstanding achievements, while for Batch 2017 Vandana Kiran Kaur and Jatinder Kaur won the laurels. For B.Sc –B.Ed the honours went to Sukhjeet Kaur, Amrit Kaur and Arshdeep Kaur for Batch 2016 and Amandeep Kaur, Preetkamal Kaur and Kiranjot Kaur for Batch 2017.
In his presidential address Dr. Prit Pal Singh congratulated the students for putting up a great show and highlighted how conducive learning environment is being provided to the students at University. Further, he stressed the role of teacher in the life of students and urged the students to be honest and sincere in their work towards society. He congratulated the department for taking gigantic leaps in a short frame of time for providing excellent educational services to the students. He also expressed deep sense of appreciation towards students who have excelled in various competitions in spite of hailing from rural and remote areas. At the end, Prof S.S. Jolly, Dean Faculty of Education and Information Science presented vote of thanks. He expressed his gratitude for Vice-Chancellor for gracing and motivating the students.
