ADGP to Constable; 16 Punjab Police officials got Police Medals on Independence Day

Ministry of Home Affairs has announced the list of1380 Gallantry award winners for President’s Police Medal for Gallantry (2) , Police Medal for Gallantry (628) , President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Services (88) and Police Medal for Meritorious services (662).
Among the majority of the 628 Gallantry Awards, 01 PPMG to J&K Police & 01 PPMG to CRPF (Posthumous) is being awarded, 398 personnel are being awarded for their gallant action in Jammu & Kashmir region, 155 personnel for their gallant action in Left Wing Extremism affected areas and 27 personnel for their gallant action in North-East Region. Among the personnel receiving Gallantry Awards 256 are from J&K Police, 151 are from CRPF, 23 are from ITBP and 67 are from Odisha Police, 25 are from Maharashtra and 20 are from Chhattisgarh and the remaining from the other States/UTs and CAPFs.
Constable Gurseawk Singh of Punjab police got medal in Police Medal for Gallantry, Ram Singh, ADGP, Modernisation and Jasdeep Singh AIG-Cum-Staff Officer to DGP got President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Services and 13 got Police Medal for Meritorious services.

Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Dinkar Gupta, while congratulating the awardees, expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Home Affairs GOI for recognising the services of these officers and boosting the morale of the entire Punjab Police force. He said that such recognition plays a significant role in encouraging the Police force to work with more dedication and devotion, which is very much required in a border state having manifold security challenges.
