Afghan Ambassador to India, visited Punjabi University Patiala

His Excellency Farid Mamundzay, Afghan Ambassador to India, Sediqullah Sahar – Education Attaché, Hamdullah Arbab – Cultural Attache and Qadir Shah – Commercial Attaché, the distinguished delegates of Afghan diplomatic mission in India visited Punjabi University Patiala to meet senior official of University and to interact with Afghan students at the Campus. In the welcome speech, Prof. Ranjit Kaur, Dean of the directorate of International Affairs of the University welcomed the Ambassador, delegates from Embassy and all the distinguished guests. Prof. Ranjit told that at present 340 international students from 22 countries are pursuing their higher studies under different scholarship schemes in Punjabi University, Patiala and out of these 175 students are from Afghanistan and University is providing every type support to Afghanistan students.
Prof. Varinder Kaushik, Registrar, Punjabi University Patiala, acknowledge about the valuable ties between the two nations and insisted to extended ties by means of Educational, Cultural and Economic programs. Prof. Varinder, On behalf of honorable Vice-Chancellor assured that in future also,Punjabi University, Patiala will provide every type academic and emotional support to the students who are either in Afghanistan or on campus so that they do not have an uncertain future.
His Excellency Mamundzay in his address, talked about the strong bond between the two nations and expressed his gratitude towards the authorities of Punjabi University Patiala for their continuous support and cooperation to the Afghan students. Mamundzay also interacted with the Afghan students regarding their experiences, issues and suggestions, he also assured them of cooperation from the diplomatic mission. Zabihullah Rased (PhD Research Scholar) and Gul Nigar Ahmadi (PhD Research Scholar) express their gratitude on behalf of Afghan students for the support and cooperation from University’s administration which they showed towards the Afghan Students, especially the office of International Students & the Vice Chancellor and all other administrative authorities. Dean Research & Controller of Examination Prof. A.K.Tiwari concluded the meeting with a vote of thanks to Ambassador, Farid Mamundzay and the distinguished delegates of Afghanistan embassy for visiting Punjabi University Patiala and both sides exchanged some gestures of gifts. The ambassador and his team also visited the Museum & Art Gallery of Punjabi University, Patiala at the end of the event.Prof Rakesh Kumar, finance officer, coordinator of international admissions Dr. Charanjit Singh and Dr. Inderjit Singh were also present on this occasion.
