After joining, Rupnagar DC pays obeisance at Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib

Deputy Commissioner, Rupnagar Varjeet Walia, after assuming office, paid obeisance at Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, Sri Anandpur Sahib, and prayed for the well-being of the entire public. He also listened to the soulful recitation of Gurbani. Accompanying him were his wife, Tania Bains (IRS), Deputy Commissioner of GST, Ludhiana, his mother Amarjeet Kaur, and his son Jasmeet Walia.
On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Varjeet Walia expressed that he felt extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to serve the sacred land of Sri Anandpur Sahib, the birthplace of the Khalsa. He stated that ensuring that the benefits of Punjab Government’s welfare schemes reach the eligible beneficiaries on time would be a priority for the administration. He also emphasized providing better administrative services and ensuring a corruption-free administration for the general public.
Varjeet Walia affirmed that the anti-drug campaign initiated under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann would be made more effective and implemented at the grassroots level. He also assured that the pace of development would be accelerated, and necessary actions would be taken for viable development projects in the region.
The Deputy Commissioner further stated that this is a sacred land where the Guru Sahibans spent a significant amount of time. Upcoming events, centenaries, and anniversaries at this holy place would be celebrated with great enthusiasm and a spirit of service. Varjeet Walia, IAS, has previously served in various capacities, including as Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister.

Also present on this occasion were Jaspreet Singh (Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Sri Anandpur Sahib), Amarjeet Singh Chawla (Member, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee), Manager Malkit Singh, Additional Manager Hardev Singh, Information Officer Harpreet Singh, Daljit Singh Bhinder (Interim Committee Member), Mandeep Singh Rinku, K.P. Singh, Tajinder Singh, Narinder Kumar, Darshan Singh, Harvinder Singh, and Sukhwinder Singh Gill.
