After last time high drama, BBMB invites applications for Secretary’s post

Bhakra Beas Management Board management has invited applications for the post of Secretary, BBMB, Chandigarh.
As per available information, the post of secretary is going to fall vacant w.e.f. August 1,2025 and only officers working in BBMB are eligible to apply for this coveted post.
Earlier, on January 24,2025 Punjab government had issued transfer orders of Dr Harinder Pal Singh Bedi to join as secretary, BBMB as Punjab government had requested the BBMB authorities to appoint Punjab cadre officer on this post. But the BBMB management has rejected Punjab government’s request to appoint Bedi as Secretary, BBMB. On February 28,2025 afternoon Dr Bedi relinquished the charge of Chief engineer, Drainage-cum-Mining & Geology, Water Resources Department, Punjab, joined the office of Secretary, BBMB and submitted his joining report to the Chairman BBMB.
But, paying two hoots to Punjab government order, Chairman Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) issued the order of Er Surinder Singh Mittal, a Haryana Power Generation Corporation Limited (HPGCL) cadre officer as secretary, BBMB.
On the other hand, the Haryana government had extended the term of Satish Singla, then outgoing BBMB secretary, whose term was upto February 28,2025, for another year i.e till February 28,2026. But BBMB management had withdraw its appointment orders as secretary BBMB and appointed Satish Singla as secretary BBMB.
This year “, it is intimated that applications are hereby invited from eligible officers working in BBMB, who are willing to work on this post, as per the criteria conditions” said the board management.
As per the requirement, the candidate must be currently working in BBMB in the rank of Executive Engineer (XEN) or Superintending Engineer (SE) or equivalent, in BBMB. The candidate must have a minimum of 20 years of experience in service as on the date of application. No disciplinary/vigilance proceeding should be pending/contemplated against the officer.
“The eligible candidates shall submit their applications enclosing their detailed bio-data, self certification/ resume of last 10 years ACRs alongwith brief note on what the candidate desires to contribute after Selection as Secretary, BBMB by July 29,2025. Applications shall be submitted to the Secretary, BBMB, either physically or via the designated email ” added another condition by the management.
